The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened midday Wednesday in northwest Knoxville.

At around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, KPD officers responded to the area of Moses Avenue and Wallace Street. Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center to receive treatment for serious injuries.

Based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the victim was driving a Chrysler sedan when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle from the occupant or occupants of a second, unidentified vehicle, in an apparent targeted shooting.
